The disc brake caliper can be fixed or floating in the Toyota crew cab pickup for sale that needs to check with care. In the first case it is rigidly fixed with screws or bolts to support placed on the suspension upright, in the second case, thanks to the pressure it receives from the key pump, the caliper slides axially on a bracket until the pads intervene on both surfaces of the disk. The disc, integral with the wheel through the hub or axle shaft, runs passing between the two pads housed in the caliper, at a specific distance. Â
Under Pressure
When the clamp receives the fluid under pressure, the pistons of the same move and push the pads onto the disc with a force proportional to that exerted by the driver on the brake pedal. The friction between the pads and the disc generates a braking torque and therefore a force that slows or stops the vehicle. The energy possessed by the vehicle in motion is transformed by friction into heat, the quantity of which is greater the heavier and faster the car at the time of braking. In the case of braking in frequent succession, at high speeds or on long downhill routes, the effectiveness of the brakes  should not be decreased, therefore these adhere with three essential requirements: good thermal resistance; sufficient ventilation to dissipate the heat produced; constancy of the friction characteristics of the brake pads in a wide range of temperatures.Â
Half Box
In series cars with fixed calipers, calipers are normally fitted with a small piston for each half-casing; in sports cars instead, the pistons can be two for each half-box. In the field of high-level motor racing, the calipers can be equipped with different pistons for each half-box, up to a total of ten cylinders and related pistons. Of course, depending on the type of gripper, suitable drawing tablets are used in the quantity established by the developers. However, don't forget that, especially in racing cars, the disposal of heat is never fast enough. While, The two half-boxes of a fixed caliper brake, each contain different pistons, contained in the relative small cylinders, which are subjected to hydraulic pressure during braking. To be precise, a keen buyer of the used vehicle who is ready to pay the Toyota crew cab pickup price particularly should heed the discussed notions; however, these shouldn't be considered as expert tips.
The Phase
The pistons press with equal force on the pads on both sides of the disc as it happens with the braking device of the wheel of a bicycle. Once the braking phase is over, the pistons, then the pads, due to the elastic reaction produced by the sealing rings, detach from the surfaces of the discs the specific distance, to free the wheels from the brake clamp. Thanks to their high strength, the fixed caliper brakes are generally mounted preferably on heavy and fast cars. Here a used car buyer should note that, the fixed calipers consist of two half-boxes, generally in light alloy, on which the cylinders are obtained where the sealing rings and the pistons are located with the relative dust caps.
