Used Scania Topline For Sale From UK At Reasonable Price

The Exhaust System Of Used Scania Topline For Sale Is Built To Expel Exhaust Gases

The exhaust system of used Scania topline for sale should have the task of expelling the combustion gases of the engine, The exhaust gases coming from the engine pass through the  manifolds  and reach the catalytic converter , which acts as a scrubber for harmful exhaust emissions from the engine, favoring complete oxidation and reduction of exhaust gases, and also contributes together with the  silencer  (or terminal) to reduce exhaust noise.

Oxidation Of Exhaust Gases

The reduction consists, through a special sponge of  catalytic material  and certainly forced passages, in the complete oxidation of the exhaust gases, converting unburned hydrocarbons (CnHm), nitrogen oxides (NO) and carbon monoxide (CO) into carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O) and nitrogen (N2); in the more modern engines also the O2 sensors help the engine to calibrate the air/petrol mixture to comply with the regulations. The size of the entire exhaust system is the result of in-depth fluid dynamics calculations, in particular, the volume, temperature, exhaust gas velocity and a whole series of other parameters must be taken into account. The plant design also significantly determines the engine performance: extension, power and torque are closely linked to the shape, length, diameter of the exhaust ducts and the shape and internal volume of the terminal. Even the positioning of the terminal is a far from casual choice, a terminal positioned under the engine, for example, increases the centralization of the masses improving the dynamic behavior of the bike, a drain positioned under the tail instead theoretically tends to improve the extension of the engine thanks to longer ducts.

For An Increased Output

For those looking for an increase in performance, a reduction in weight, or simply a better sound, replacing the exhaust is a mandatory step. Especially in recent years, due to anti-pollution regulations, the size and (weight) of the exhaust systems rise. From the technical point of view, there are several interventions, from the simple replacement of the terminal to the replacement of the entire exhaust system, there is a big difference. The replacement of the  exhaust terminal, if it is separated from the catalyst, does not make an increase in performance but improves the sound and saves a little weight, in this case, to be in compliance with the code of the road is appropriate that the homologation code for the noise pollution regulation is stamped on the terminal. In this case, the engine electronic control unit will be able to regulate itself to optimize the delivery curve. A buyer should check the discussed parts and their quality before pay the used Scania topline price.

The Control Unit

In the case where the catalyst is contained in the terminal, the replacement significantly changes the gas flows and consequently the engine performance. To be precise, it is strongly advisable to reprogram the engine control unit, or to install an additional module that allows the engine to modify the air/petrol mixture so as to better adapt to the different fluid gas dynamics, avoiding the annoying (and damaging) ) crackles and flare-ups in the release. Besides, The change that allows for maximum weight savings and the greatest increase in performance is the replacement of the entire system, therefore manifolds, catalyst and terminal. With the use of larger diameter manifolds, the elimination of the catalyst and the replacement of the exhaust terminal will deeply change the character of the engine. A modification of this kind is advisable only if you use the bike on the track.
