Used Automatic Trucks For Sale From UK At Reasonable Price

CVT Is To Produce Pre-Set Pressure Values, If It Is The Part Of Used Automatic Trucks For Sale

In the latest generation CVT gearboxes, however, it has been possible, through electronics, to recreate and manage a sort of fixed positions for both pulleys in order to simulate a functioning similar to that of a traditional gearbox. So, that aspect and its presence should be checked inside the used automatic trucks for sale. Based on certain values such as speed, engine speed, applied load, delivered torque and resistive torque, the control unit requires the hydraulic pumps to generate pre-set pressure values so as to move the pulleys to certain positions so as to simulate actual ratios. In the same way, recently the semi-automatic or sequential mode has been implemented which, thanks to the gear lever or the paddles on the steering wheel, allows to change gears like on robotized or electro-actuated gearboxes.

The Choice

Another certainly fascinating information is the methodology with which this type of automatic gearbox matches the transmission to the engine when starting from a standstill. There are different coupling modes that differ based on the amount of torque to be transmitted, the type of CVT gearbox and the manufacturer's design choice. For motors that generate very low torques, the electromagnetic powder clutch is adopted. This wear-free clutch is composed of two disks, one connected to the engine and the other to the gearbox, which is coupled through the passage of current that magnetizes the iron dust that separates them, which sticks to both of them like a magnet. In this case, by varying the intensity of the magnetization, it is possible to modulate the progress of the graft.

Electronics Solutions

For engines that generate a greater amount of torque, the classic torque converter is used, as on real automatic transmissions, with slip locking that is activated already at low speeds to avoid penalizing consumption and performance. This solution not only allows greater smoothness and greater comfort but also a more decent response combined with a greater quantity of transmissible torque in the face of a more complex, heavy and expensive group. Recently, finally, clutch units or converters have been introduced, driven by electro-hydraulic actuators and then managed by the same oil pumps and by the same pulley electronics or particular solutions with multidisk clutches, such as those adopted by renowned brand i.e. Audi for its Multitronic gearbox. So, a buyer of used trucks should heed before bid the automatic trucks price.

Belt And Pulleys

Although it is the one able to guarantee the best combination between the engine torque curve to allow in any condition to implement the most suitable ratio to maximize both the performance and the energy efficiency of the engine, this type of gearbox is not certainly exempt from some negative aspects not really negligible. It is certainly subject to greater internal losses, caused by the friction between the belt and the pulleys, compared to a classic automatic transmission with torque converter. The greater mechanical losses make this type of change less efficient even compared to modern manual gearboxes. Furthermore, due to the trapezoidal belt that works on the sides due to friction, this type of automatic transmission is capable of transmitting the torque and therefore is not suitable for engines, especially supercharged, large volumes. For its part, it has a smaller footprint and lower production costs compared to other automatic transmissions, because it is made up of fewer components, and completely eliminates the sensation of tears or variations in the engine speed during gear changes.
