The Drive Position
To start, keeping the foot on the brake pedal, put the gearshift in the Drive position, after which the brake is gradually released so that the machine starts moving. The speed must be adjusted with the accelerator pedal, without having to change gear. To break or stop, just remove your foot from the accelerator pedal and press the brake pedal. To park, it is necessary to brake until the machine stops and place the gear selector in the Reverse position (if this operation is necessary). Before turning off the vehicle, however, remember to keep the brake pressed and put the gearbox in position P (Transmission blocked). The N (Neutral) gear is used when the car is not moving and the speed must not be checked, for example during stops for several minutes or when towing.

First of all, before moving from P to any other position it is necessary to press the brake. Secondly, you must never enter P or R modes while the car is moving and you must start the engine when in P or N mode. Both when braking and accelerating, you need to apply a gradual and light pressure on the pedals and finally, during a long stop, select the N mode and pull the safety brake, while on the steepest slopes you must remember not to place the gearbox in N mode.
