The theft of cars, trucks, vans and their cargo has always been a problem. In this article, dealing with commercial vehicles i.e. used tipper trucks for sale from the UK, we will focus on cargo protection systems, be it transported goods or equipment used in mobile workshops. In the past, the use of the electronic burglar alarm was very widespread, intended as the device that detected the intrusion inside the vehicle deterred the thief of his intent by signaling the attempted theft with the sound of a siren.Â
Electronic Devices
The electronic anti-theft system intervenes only when the vehicle has already been violated and therefore has already suffered damage and it is also said that the thief does not find time to steal material from the inside before leaving. Unfortunately, electronic anti-theft devices have also become easier to tamper with thanks to the possibility of being able to find devices such as Jammers or decoders for radio controls at affordable prices. It is perhaps for this reason that for years now we have returned to the use of various types of mechanical anti-theft systems, such as devices, padlocks, security locks, designed to physically prevent the opening of the vehicle. Furthermore, these devices, being clearly visible, also have a deterrent effect for attackers. In recent years, the manufacturers of these systems have seen a strong increase in sales, especially since these closures have become compulsory equipment for most of the vans used by couriers.Â
Side And Rear
The safety locks in question are applied to the side and rear doors of the load compartment. Normally this is a pair of locks but, in certain models, 3 locks may also be required e.g. vans with double side door. The opening key is the same for which it makes everything easier. The keys used are always of the anti-tamper type and the locks are made of high-strength steel to resist perforation. The shell is based in steel, The various models on the market have similar characteristics and are always an effective solution however they are not the same and neither are the prices for which we go into the merits and analyze the details of the most commonly used safety locks for commercial vehicles. The exclusive (patented) shape without edges and grip points, combined with stainless steel, robust and anti-corrosion, identifies this innovative locking system for trucks and vans (and also for goods storage containers), applicable indifferently on the rear doors swing and side sliding doors, or both, in the couple version in KA (same key).Â
Possible To Disable
Block shaft is applied on the loading compartment doors making it impervious to the most frequent break-in attempts. Thanks to its constructional geometries and the robust steel body, Blockshaft Van resists any burglary tool, cutting and drill holes. Sturdy steel counter plates applied inside during assembly make it particularly resistant to burglary attempts. Block shaft Van remains anchored to the van and closes automatically when the doors are closed. A version called RK is also available on the order where it is possible to disable automatic closing, particularly useful when users work onboard the vehicle. In any case, from the inside of the vehicle, it is always possible to open the door inadvertently closed. Block shaft van is available in different models and sizes.
