The anti-blocking system, better known as Anti-lock Braking System is a safety system that should avoid the locking of used Mercedes Benz e class blue efficiency for sale if it is inside. It allow drivability or directionality during emergency braking.
Prevents The Vehicle
ABS does not allow the wheels to lock during braking, it prevents the vehicle from slipping on the asphalt: thus the static sliding friction force acting between tires and asphalt is maintained, and therefore the vehicle's steering capacity even during emergency braking. ABS is, therefore, able to avoid, within the limits , sudden oversteer behaviors (for example spin due to blocking of the rear wheels) and understeers (for example due to the locking of the front wheels). This means that during an ABS panic braking the driver has at the same time the possibility to avoid any obstacles. A second benefit deriving from an anti-wheel lock system is the shortening of the space needed to stop a vehicle in an emergency. In fact, the force that the tire can develop on the ground depends on a size typically called sliding (or slip ). The ABS system acts avoiding the blocking of the tires and trying to stay right in the ideal slip range that corresponds to the maximum friction and therefore to the maximum deceleration.
The Work of ABS
On each wheel of the vehicle, there is an Encoder (angular position transducer), formed by a transducer and a phonic wheel, which consists of a gear wheel similar to a gear that turns with the vehicle wheel and a sensor of fixed inductive proximity which detects the passage. The electronic control unit, counting that pass in a given unit of time, calculates the speed of rotation of the wheel and if it detects that one or more wheels are blocked during braking it controls the hydraulic pump so as to decrease the force of braking, in practice it performs the same action as the driver would do by releasing the brake pedal, but he can work individually on each individual wheel, which the driver cannot do. This system has evolved with innovations whereas, the very recent systems have been made bi-directional thus managing to tighten a brake as well as release it, this has allowed an improvement in functionality and integration with other safety systems such as emergency-assisted braking.
The Absence Of ABS
In the absence of ABS on asphalt, the wheels quickly lock when braking very decisively, causing the static friction force to decay: the vehicle thus tends to control the direction prior to locking, without the possibility of the steering wheel being corrected by the driver (steering). In old cars, without such a system, either steer or brake thoroughly. You can't do both at the same time. ABS has no disadvantages when used on asphalt, dry or wet, compared to a system that does not have one. In theory, however, with an ABS braking on low and medium-grip or non-compact terrains, such as snow, dirt or the like, the possible deceleration is not achieved. Before, pay the Mercedes Benz E Class Blueefficiency Price, a buyer should ask about ABS and its condition with used car exporter.
